Barbershop harmony has a way of changing people; it builds friendships, restores confidence, and fills rooms with belonging. For many members, it has been one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives. Legacy of Harmony is for those who want that chapter to continue - in their name, in their honor, beyond their own lifetime.

No Minimum Gift
The size of a bequest does not determine the depth of the commitment.
Private by Default
There is no requirement to disclose the size or terms of your gift; anonymity is always an option.
Recognition for Life
Membership asks nothing further of you - no annual renewal, no continued giving.
Ways to Give
Many paths lead to a legacy gift; all of them are honored equally. Most are simpler than people expect.
A gift in your will
Simple to set upBequest Intention
Name BHS in your will or living trust. It costs nothing now, and you can change it at any time. This is the most common and most accessible planned gift.
Minimum: No minimum
Name BHS on an account
Simple to set upBeneficiary Designation
Name BHS as a beneficiary on a retirement account (IRA, 401k), life insurance policy, bank account, or annuity. One of the most tax-efficient options.
Minimum: No minimum
A gift through life insurance
Simple to set upLife Insurance Donation
Name BHS as a primary or contingent beneficiary on an existing policy, or transfer ownership of a paid-up policy.
Minimum: No minimum
Income for you now, a gift later
Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT)
Transfer assets into a trust that pays you income for life or a fixed term. When the trust ends, BHS receives the remainder. We will gladly work alongside your counsel.
Minimum: Typically $100,000+ in assets
A gift now, your heirs later
Charitable Lead Trust (CLT)
A trust pays BHS income for a set number of years; afterward, the remainder passes to your heirs. A way to give now and provide for family later.
Minimum: Significant assets · refer to counsel
Easier than you might think
Adding BHS to your will can be as simple as a single sentence your attorney includes - often a short amendment called a codicil. You do not need to rewrite anything, and you can change your mind at any time. Our philanthropy team can help you and your attorney with the exact wording.

The Legacy Circle
Each year at International Convention, Legacy of Harmony members are invited to a private gathering hosted by our philanthropy team - a small-group sing, informal and intimate.
No speeches; no ask. Just song, fellowship, and the quiet recognition that these members have decided to do something rare.
